Information Design Journal

The Information Design Journal began as a typography journal and then expanded internationally to cover the field of information design as a whole. The journal's tagline states that it exists for the purpose of "building a knowledge-base for the practice of information design," and with its contributors and readers representing a variety of disciplines, the journal provides a diverse knowledge base for information design professionals.

Past issues have included articles that addressed subjects such as

  • the history of information design
  • solid user interfaces
  • structuring documents
  • functional color for screen displays
  • writing instructional information
