Is Documentation Your Company's Core Competence?

What is a core competence? Is documentation your company's core competence? These questions need answers when management is cutting costs and thinking about what tasks can be outsourced rather than handled by in-house staff. Management tries to pinpoint the core competencies that are required to keep ahead of the competition. Eventually, they will also evaluate the documentation-related competencies. This article briefly discusses the meaning of a core competence and provides some insight on when documentation can be a core competence and when it cannot.
