Small Department Membership
To qualify for the small department membership, you must be the manager of your department with individuals reporting directly to you and certify that your department has ten (10) or fewer members, including contractors.
Best Practices newsletter. This bimonthly newsletter provides the latest news in the information-development industry and reports on CIDM studies and member actions. The newsletter features articles about benchmarking activities and best practices, a calendar of coming events throughout the industry, book reviews, tool reviews, and more. You may choose print or electronic copy (Max. 10). For a sample copy of the newsletter, view one of our past issues.
Free conference registration. Each Small Department CIDM member receives one complimentary registration to the annual Best Practices conference, dedicated to management principles and strategies. Members also receive discounted rates to all annual conferences.
Members listserv. Use the CIDM members listserv to query colleagues for their best practices and ideas for resolving dilemmas in your organization.
Members website. The Members website archives the Best Practices newsletter issues and articles, including a search tool for articles in Best Practices and the Information Management e-newsletter, provides links to CIDM webinars that are reserved only for members, lists vendor and departmental member organizations and provides contact information for the primary liaisons in these organizations. The Members website will soon include a question and answer forum on collaboration and other pressing issues. You can post your pressing questions and receive valuable advice from other CIDM members.
Benchmarking activities. The CIDM maintains a continuous program of surveys and other benchmarking studies, inviting CIDM members, as well as other companies, to participate. Specific results and recommendations are available to those companies participating, with reports available to all CIDM members, some for a small fee.
White papers. The CIDM publishes reports of important developments in the field, including the results of CIDM benchmarking activities, research projects, and case studies. All white papers are available to CIDM Small Department members for a small fee.
CIDM webinars. All Small Department CIDM members may attend live or access recorded CIDM webinars at no cost.
