Sr. Technical Writer (6-month Contract position)
San Diego, CA
•Develops and deliver innovative, strategic content for both internal and external customers
•Promotes a customer-focused attitude within the team
•Engages with key stakeholders to understand their requirements
•Maintains excellent communication with customers for feedback
•Collaborates with software development managers, product managers, and quality engineers on content development and delivery
•Estimates level of effort, prioritizes, and manages work efforts
•Follows technical publications procedures and processes, updates as needed
•Flexible and able to juggle multiple projects
•Values process and consistency, while embracing new technologies and new ways of doing things
•Curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to ask questions
•Proven track record of documenting complex technology using DITA
•Experience with Agile methodologies
•A team player, you realize that great people coming together produce extraordinary results
•Oxygen and Confluence experience a plus.
•Bachelor’s degree plus a technical background and at least 8 years of experience.
•BS/BA in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
•5+ years of experience writing software documentation for a technical audience
•Knowledge of single sourcing methodology, and style guide development
•High level of creativity, dependability, and flexibility in a fast paced environment to multi-task, meet deadlines, and adapt to meet project needs
•Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration with different levels of the organization and work effectively with peers
•Experience with HTML, XML, XMetaL, Oxygen, Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, Git/GitHub
